Kristian Jeff specialises in art criticism, visual art, photography, graphic and web design, digital multimedia, video and film; he occasionally writes songs, theatre pieces, and ‘love poetry’. He also has a wide range of experience in exhibition design, from galleries to museums.
After 6 years of freelancing in different creative industries, he received scholarship in London and accomplished his Master’s degree in Visual Culture at the University of Westminster in 2012, where he gained a Distinction for his dissertation. Earlier, he obtained his Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Art Studies at the University of the Philippines, where he co-founded the U.P. Sirkulo ng mga Kabataang Artista (U.P. Circle of Young Artists) in 2002 and served as its Artistic Director to date (now Emeritus).
He is a member of the Asia-Europe Foundation University or ASEFUAN (Singapore), The Poetry Society (UK) and the Japan Association for Cultural Economics or JACE (Japan). He is also managing social media presence for 101 Health Research and Statistics (Manila). He used to work on participatory photography projects for international charity PhotoVoice (London).
Recent collaborations include: his calligraphy work in ‘Fishes of Light’ / ‘Peces de Luz’ (2013) by lauded Filipina writer Professor Marjorie Evasco and award-winning Cuban poet and dramatist Alex Fleites; his libretto for Ageless Passion (2011), a musicale with original music by Filipino Maestro Ryan Cayabyab; and his calligraphy, logo design and concept art for Earth.Ø (2012), a transmedia project in London conceptualised by Yen Ooi.
