Kate Armstrong is a media artist and writer who has lived and worked in Canada, France, Japan, Scotland, and the United States. Her work has taken a variety of forms including short films, essays, net.art, performative network events, psychogeography and installation. Her artwork has been exhibited internationally.
Kate received a primary degree in French language and literature from L'Institut Paul Valery at the Universite de Montpellier in France and studied film and television at the University of Glasgow. She earned her Bachelor of Arts, Honours, from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, with a dual concentration in philosophy and film studies, and was granted a Masters of Philosophy in Humanities at Memorial University in St. John's, Newfoundland.
Kate has extensive production experience in independent film and network television. She is affiliated with the Event Foundation, a media arts organization based in New York, and is the founder of Special Airplane, which hosts experimental net culture events in Vancouver, Canada.
