3 Player Chess was made in
collaboration with computer programmer, Adrian
Eaton, with rules that reflect the humour and blue-sky-thinking
of contributors to the project: chess
players, artists, activists and philosophers. The new game is open
to all levels of skill and players only need a rudimentary understanding
of conventional chess to play the game. The idea is to spread new peace-promoting, non-heirarchical
models of organisation and conflict resolution like a virus by changing
the way clever-chess-players' synapses fire, embedding considerations
of complex cooperation into the game.
