What is the networking party ?
The networking party is an informal annual event in which artists, thinkers, techies, entrepreneurs, transgressive types, scientists, musicians, performers, curators and critics are invited to bring along documentation of any current projects. Everyone gets to talk about something they are really involved in, opening up potential for individuals and groups to collaborate and realise each other on their own terms.

For this year's event we invited five speakers to give presentations and answer questions about their current projects.

Mac Dunlop : Here Nor There
From collective resources comes collective authorship and collective product'. Cultural diversity is of fundamental importance and projects are developed through the direct physical experience of participating in international residencies, events and exhibitions. Here Nor There utilises internet technology as a resource, and as an arena for project development / creative collaboration.

Luci will talk about low-fi as an independent mediation system, upcoming lo-fi commissions and what they are aiming to acheive with them.

Karla Ptacek : Avatar Body Collision
Karla will introduce the work of this cyberformance troupe, Online in the company's chat room, she'll join the N.Z. Colliders, Helen Varley Jamieson and Vicki Smith, to shamelessly promote Upstage - a software development project funded by the N.Z.Ministry of Research, Science & Technology. Since the 4th Collider, Leena Saarinen, will be en route from Banff this day, Ptacek, Smith & Jamieson will perform a specially devised 5 minute demo entitled "Lagging with the Lololos - Confessions of A Cyber-Ethnographer."

Corby & Baily have been collaborating for a number of years on art projects employing new technologies. In a rare UK appearance at DELUXE they will discuss the motivations and polemics underlying their practice, show a series of past projects and present a work in progress notepad.exe.
