olice and public safety agencies across the country are beginning to
launch aerial drones that beam down footage of the scenes below. Privacy
advocates have raised alarms about the idea of new digital eyes
patrolling the skies, saying that civilian use of UAVs by state and
local police would create a world of constant, unseen surveillance.

MIAMI -- The Miami-Dade police department will begin experimenting with
high-tech drones as law enforcement tools beginning next year.

Although the military has been using unmanned aircraft systems for
years, this will be the first time they are used in law enforcement.
