Talking Together - Jess Loseby & Tara Noid - Take Over

The meaning of your pieces is important - and there is a sense of craftsmanship, Your work is intelligent rather than clever.

That's a nice way of putting it, this is what I would hope. l am a traditional girl, I have traditional ideas about colour and movement and dialogue. I battle with the idea of play. I push the idea.

I will be doing a virtual residency at furtherfield. It's so great, I was not able to do this before. It has opened new doors, it's just great.

It's a new concept for the Internet

I hope that concept is taken up really quick, it could be an amazing thing - especially for artists with disabilities. The residency will build on my interest in video. I want to centre it on a poem by Mac Dunlop on furtherfield, its called "lying ally"; its fantastic, I could just listen to it. It's got this voice that comes out of silence and it has got this wonderful quality, and again he talks about the click, click, click and he asks, " Is this the first noise?" Yes give this to me!! Its gonna be the start and I am into the idea of net-film, a kind of installation with video and sound, its like a take over of images. I can't wait to use it. Everything I will be doing is gonna come out from just that one poem, its got so many treads coming off it.

I am excited about the furtherfield residency. l like playing with other people's stuff I can borrow some of their language and find my ground in it. I like that.

You become a collector.

Yes, I love this idea of this emotional take-over bit of someone else's work. I will be speaking with their voices, I will be borrowing their work.

You are like a medium.

Yes, that will help me find my voice. That's gonna be big fun.
