replic**t is the 3rd resident artist
Best known for her piece ‘The Physical Impossibility of ASCII Art in the Mind of the Analogue Artist’, replic**t is an emerging female artist who recently relocated from Vulvaria to Shoredik. Her iconic, turn of the millennium works, engage with networked and new media art practices and are recognised by their dramatic digi-confessional nature.

In response to increasingly disturbing rumours of her immateriality, replic**t will appear online in as series of exclusive live, real-time studio events at www.furtherstudio.org. Here she will be sharing the secrets of her digital art process and declaring her radical views on code/flesh in online chat with visitors. For the next two months, you can visit the web page to watch her computer screen while she works on her homepage, www.replic88t.net, which will incorporate a series of limited edition, addictively priced, signature net art works. These works, commissioned exclusively for FurtherStudio represent the first time that replic**t’s work will be available to the global consumer.

Later this year replic**t will present her first Major RetrospecTit at the Zedkayem Biennale, in association with MyGrowsoft.

Rich White is the 2nd resident artist
Rich White uses various themes and ideas to explore the meaning and value of art including art history, context, perception, time-travel, decontextualisation and censorship. For the Furtherstudio residency Rich is creating a project with two parallel bodies of work under the headings 'create' and 'remove'.

In 'Create' Rich is exploring the theoretical, conceptual and practical possibilities of creating an 'original' net/software artwork - that is, a work that remains unique in a digital environment. 'Remove' concerns censoring art available on the net. The result will form a comprehensive archive of censored artworks.
One half creates - art is made by addition.
One half removes - art is made by subtraction.

Visitors are invited to contribute to both strands of the project by emailing html, javascript and actionscript for use in 'readymade' net.artworks in 'create' and sending in or suggesting artworks to be censored for 'remove'.

Jess Loseby is the 1st resident artist
Digital/ net artist, Jess Loseby kicked off FurtherStudio with her project 'bob@no-where'. She is primarily a Flash artist and has initiated a number of acclaimed participatory net art works such as Cyber-Kitchen and currently exhibits her work on Furtherfield.org and Rhizome.org. As an early user of the software Jess Loseby also played a key role in its early development.

During the course of the virtual residency Jess sent emails to 'Bob' with html, flash and video artworks attached. These emails took the form of love letters, hate mail and trivial musings constructed from the artist's emotional take-over and transformation of artists' works archived within the furtherfield.org website. Viewers of the residency were able to take on the persona of 'Bob' by sending mail (with their own artworks attached if they wish), using a specially constructed webmail environment.
